New 2026 Payroll Timekeeping Deadlines: Changes to Cutoff Times The 2026 Payroll Timekeeping Deadline Schedule is now available on Blink. Effective January 2026, the payroll deadline cutoff time will move from 2:30 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon), and all weekend and holiday deadlines have been eliminated. These changes are designed to support work-life balance for timekeepers; please review the schedule on Blink now to prepare your department for the new year. Read the full communication here.
Job Record End Date Monitoring There are currently 503 employee records and 1015 contingent worker (CWR) records with December 31, 2025 or earlier end dates that are not set to auto-terminate. Please run the Jobs With Approaching End Dates Report in Cognos. Extend or terminate Employee records before December 31, 2025, as appropriate. CWR assignments may be extended (UC_EXT_CWR template) or "completed" (UC_COM_CWR template).

Systemwide Reporting Login Page Update Effective Monday, November 23, 2025, the login screen for the UC systemwide reporting tool (Cognos) has been refreshed. Users will now see a modern login screen with an updated look and feel, and the interface is optimized for mobile devices. No action is needed – all user accounts, passwords, and access permissions remain unchanged.
Important Year-End Tax and Payroll Reminders As 2025 comes to a close, here are some important reminders and announcements related to your pay, taxes, and benefits. Some items may require action on your part, so please note these upcoming deadlines:
- January 2, 2026: Monthly Pay Date
- As a reminder, due to the New Year holiday, UCPath Center will issue monthly paychecks and schedule direct deposits to post on January 2, 2026, for monthly employees.
- January 2, 2026: Deadline to opt in to receive electronic W-2 statements and 1095-C forms
- W-2 Statements: Log in to UCPath and select Employee Actions > Income and Taxes > Enroll to receive online W-2
- 1095-C Form: Log in to UCPath and select Employee Actions > Income and Taxes > Online 1095-C Consent
- January 9, 2026: Deadline to update or verify tax information

December 2025 Curtailment Information UC San Diego has four (4) university-paid holidays (December 24, 25, 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026) during the Holiday/Winter period. Refer to the Holiday Schedule Campus Notice for more information.
- Timekeeping: Please be mindful of the December 2025 Timekeeping Deadlines, especially the last bi-weekly deadline.
- If a bi-weekly timecard is not submitted by the deadline, that payment will be delayed and paid on the next pay cycle.
- Staff employees must charge any working days during the closure period not covered by paid holidays to accrued vacation, accrued compensatory time off (non-exempt only), or leave without pay (use curtailment pay code).
- Non-represented Employees – Leave Accrual: If employees do not have enough accrued vacation or accrued compensatory time off to cover the three (3) working days during the closure (Dec. 26, 29, and 30, 2025) they may request a one-time advance of up to three (3) days of vacation to cover the absence.
- Employees who elect to take leave without pay (use curtailment pay code) will continue to accrue vacation and sick leave credits.
- If “Leave without Pay,” is chosen, the Ecotime Pay Code “Curtailment” must be selected to ensure the accruals continue.
