Message from Pierre. Thank you!
The pandemic situation has made life more challenging for everyone. I know that each of you are doing the best you can to meet these challenges and keep the operations of UC San Diego intact, and for that, I sincerely thank you. While working remotely allows you to stay safe while continuing to support the University, I realize that it is not a perfect situation. Many of you are balancing competing demands from work and family, some of you are involved with homeschooling of your children and all of us are dealing with the stress of social distancing. I want you to know how much we appreciate your efforts and acknowledge the competing demands that you are trying to balance in this remote work environment.
The UCPath Training Team has converted its excellent in-person training curriculum to an online format. If you were registered for a session that was canceled, you will be receiving an email with registration details and links to UC Learning. For those of you who had the opportunity to complete the in-person training, online review materials will be available in the next couple of weeks. Online training can feel mechanical, and with the other distractions of daily life, it can be difficult to concentrate and remain focused. However, this training is critical in order for UC San Diego to have a transactional network of expertise that is needed for the deployment of UCPath. When you receive a link to access this training material, I ask that you register for it, pay close attention to it, and complete it as soon as possible.
As HR, Payroll and/or Funding representatives, your role is critical to the livelihood of every employee at UC San Diego. I realize that the current situation makes it more demanding and that learning a new application online makes it even more challenging, but we are counting on you. Please know that we are united as Tritons in this together and together we will do great.
With much appreciation,
Pierre Ouillet
Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer
