UCPath Projects: November Release

The 2024 UCPath November Release will launch the following projects in the UCPath system in November 2024: Direct Entry Enhancements, Automate Security Deprovisioning, and Rewrite GL Assessments Phase 2.

Note

The changes above are scheduled to go live on November 25, 2024. No UCPath system downtime is expected for this release.

Direct Entry Enhancements

The Direct Entry project (formerly known as Hire Pilot) will provide an enhanced process for locations to enter new hires for Employees, Contingent Workers, and Concurrent Hires directly into UCPath with an approval framework.

What's coming?
  • Early adopters from Central Offices will be able to transact using the new Manage Human Resources tile, with the Create EmployeeCreate Contingent Worker, and Organizational Relationship tiles before all transactors can transact within the tile

Who will be impacted?
  • Transactors with access to Smart HR Templates will be able to see the Manage Human Resources tile as a view-only page.
    • The Create Employee and Create Contingent Worker tiles will not be visible.
    • The information displayed aligns with what users currently see in Person Org Summary.
  • If you currently have access to the Smart HR Templates today, continue to use Smart HR Templates until the pilot phase is complete
  • Local leadership will determine the right opportunity to release the Direct Entry functionality to all transactors

Automate Security Deprovisioning

The Automate Security Deprovisioning project will automate the deprovisioning of security when an employee transfers from one location to another. This will prevent employees transferring between locations from accessing the UCPath system at both the former and new locations. This also prevents the need for the new location's security administrators to provision UCPath access more than once.

What's coming?
  • The automated process will remove all elevated roles from an employee's user profile, and a notification will be sent to local UCPath security administrators that the deprovisioning process has been completed at the employee's former location.
Who will be impacted?
  • There will be no impact to transactors.
  • Only local UCPath Security Administrators will be impacted.

Rewrite GL Assessments: Phase 2

The Rewrite GL Assessments project will consolidate, centralize and streamline the generation of assessment information. As part of this project, UCPath Center will be updating assessments to calculate on rates of the original earning period (versus current paycheck dates) for retro payments.

What's coming?
  • This project will consolidate, centralize, and streamline the generation of assessment information.
  • The time and resources needed to generate CBR Assessment Reporting will be reduced.
  • Transactors will see an improvement in On-cycle and Off-Cycle Salary Cost Transfer processing times, along with improved accuracy of financial reporting.
  • There will be a significant reduction in data and process duplication.
Who will be impacted?
  • UCPath transactors who enter funding or cost transfers will be impacted.
